Tools

The useful buttons sit in the account, not in a slogan.

Every operator on our homepage holds a remote casino permission. That brings duties. This page explains the tools those duties usually mean in Great Britain. It is not a review of how clearly each brand labels them in their app.

GAMSTOP

GAMSTOP is the national online self-exclusion scheme, available since April 2018. The Commission required online operators to participate from 31 March 2020. Licence condition 3.5.5 still says remote licensees (with listed exceptions that do not include ordinary remote casinos) must take part. You register at gamstop.co.uk. It matches the details you give. If those details drift from what an operator holds, the match can fail. The Commission is blunt: do not try to work around it.

Deposit limits

Remote technical standards require facilities for financial limits. From 30 September 2026 the Commission’s updated RTS 12 wording requires operators to offer gross deposit limits — the total paid into the account over a stated period — and to call only that type a “deposit limit”, with at least 24-hour, 7-day and one-month options. Reductions should take effect immediately; increases wait for a cooling-off period of at least 24 hours plus a further confirmation. Until that date, operators already have to offer customer-led financial limits; the September change is about naming and the gross-deposit definition.

Reality checks

RTS 13 requires an on-screen reminder of elapsed session time that you must acknowledge. It is a clock, not a conscience. Use it as a prompt to stop, not as proof you are “still fine”.

Time-out and operator self-exclusion

A time-out pauses one operator. GAMSTOP pauses the licensed online market you can legally use in GB. If harm is already showing, skip the smaller switch and use GAMSTOP plus GamCare.

Slot stake caps

From 9 April 2025, online slots in Great Britain have a maximum stake of £5 per game cycle for adults aged 25 and over. From 21 May 2025, that maximum is £2 per game cycle for adults aged 18 to 24. The cap is a licence condition on remote casino licences. It is not a reason to play more spins. Table games are outside that particular cap.
